Welcome to Green Bellies™

Green Bellies™ is a food development company dedicated to improving the quality of nutrition provided to schoolchildren. We develop, test and bring to market all-natural, kid-approved, complete meals that schools can afford. Our San Diego-based company has a variety of “superfood” breakfast, lunch and snack items to satisfy every palate and even the fussiest eater.

Green Bellies™ launched its line of entrées and pockets for schoolchildren in California and plans to expand nationally and internationally over the next few years. Our exciting lineup of powerhouse meals and snacks is constantly expanding.

The breakfast items in the Green Bellies™ line of pockets, for example, were developed to encourage kids to eat the most important meal of the day while addressing the challenge faced by schools to deliver breakfast in a limited time frame. Green Bellies™ pockets are complete, eat-with-your-hands meals that meet our own exacting nutrition criteria (visit the Our Products page for details), National School Breakfast Program (NSBP) requirements and most importantly deliver the taste kids love.

Our lunch pockets and entrées also meet Green Bellies™ criteria, the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) standards and pack plenty of kid appeal.

Green Bellies™ recognizes the critical role schools play in reversing the alarming trends that endanger the long-term health of young people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at least 1 in 3 children born since the year 2000 will suffer from obesity and associated illnesses such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

We are committed to making products that foster a healthy relationship with food. Children will welcome healthier food choices, we’re convinced, if they offer great taste and have a high fun factor.

By working hard with trusted suppliers and manufacturers, we are able to deliver the highest possible nutrition and work within the budget of public and private schools. We consider the schools that we serve and the children we feed our partners in development so our drawing boards are always loaded with new product ideas.
